For preschoolers & their caregivers, this program supports developing early literacy skills through stories, songs, rhymes, and more. Designed for ages 3-6. In the children's activities room.
Preschool storytime features more stories, with more complex stories and humor, and has less repetition than toddler storytime. Preschool storytime is usually about 25-30 minutes, followed by about 15-20 minutes of special activities and/or crafts. Preschool storytime builds and reinforces listening skills, early literacy skills, fine-motor skills, and following 2-step instructions. Some younger children do fine, but most would probably enjoy Toddler Storytime on Tuesdays at 10:30 more. If you have children in both age groups, try both storytimes and see which one works best for your family.
