Celebrate Día de los Muertos with creativity and color! Join us as we transform ceramic skull planters into vibrant sugar skull-inspired works of art.

Día de los Muertos is a vibrant celebration of life, remembrance, and family traditions. Join us for Creative Calaveras: Sugar Skull Planters, a hands-on art program where participants will decorate ceramic skull planters inspired by traditional sugar skulls, or calaveras.

Using colorful paints and creative designs, you'll transform a plain ceramic planter into a beautiful work of art that reflects the spirit and symbolism of Día de los Muertos. Along the way, we'll explore the history and cultural significance of sugar skulls and their role in honoring loved ones.

No artistic experience is necessary—just bring your creativity! All supplies will be provided, and participants will leave with a unique planter to display at home or gift to someone special.

Anderson Public Library is located in the heart of Lawrenceburg Kentucky on Main Street.  The library has 2 meeting rooms that can be combined into 1 large room, 2 study rooms, a history room, and a makerspace lab.
