Come celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) honoring those who have passed.
Celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at the library with a hands-on workshop where we’ll create beautiful paper marigolds — a vibrant symbol of remembrance and tradition in Mexican culture.
Known as cempasúchil in Spanish, marigolds are believed to help guide the spirits of loved ones back to the world of the living with their bright color and strong scent. These iconic flowers are used to decorate altars (ofrendas), gravesites, and homes during Día de los Muertos, a celebration honoring the memory of ancestors and the cycle of life.
Come create, learn, and celebrate a beautiful tradition with us!
We will be making Marigolds out of tissue paper. There are a number of different shapes of marigolds. You can make the flower look fuller, trim the edges to create a design or even in a different color.
Anderson Public Library is located in the heart of Lawrenceburg Kentucky on Main Street. The library has 2 meeting rooms that can be combined into 1 large room, 2 study rooms, a history room, and a makerspace lab.
